Volunteer firefighters. Neighbors protecting neighbors. Your safety is our calling.
Porum Volunteer Fire Department has stood as a cornerstone of safety and service in Muskogee County for over five decades. What began as a small group of concerned neighbors has grown into a dedicated team of volunteers who answer every call — day or night, rain or shine.
Our firefighters aren't professionals on a paycheck. They're teachers, farmers, mechanics, and shop owners from right here in Porum and the surrounding communities. When the alarm sounds, they drop everything and answer the call because this is their home, and these are their neighbors.
We operate on volunteerism and community support. Every response, every training session, and every piece of equipment is made possible by the people we serve. That bond — between firefighter and community — is what makes us who we are.
From emergency response to fire prevention education, we provide a full range of public safety services to our community.
Structural fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and hazardous material incidents — our volunteers respond quickly and professionally, around the clock.
Commercial and residential fire safety inspections to ensure your property meets code and your family knows how to escape in an emergency.
Free fire safety workshops for schools, senior centers, and community groups. We teach fire prevention, CPR, and evacuation planning.
Wilderness and structural search and rescue operations. Our trained volunteers work alongside county and state agencies for coordinated responses.
Fire station tours, National Night Out, fire prevention week activities, and youth camp partnerships — we're active in the community all year long.
Vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, and water rescue capabilities. Our team maintains advanced training for complex emergency scenarios.
Whether you're looking to become a volunteer, donate equipment, or simply learn how to help, there's a place for you at Porum VFD.
